YANGON, Myanmar –– 26 November 2020

Another year of achievements in real estate development was celebrated on Thursday, 26 November during the inaugural virtual gala event and awards ceremony of the PropertyGuru Myanmar Property Awards in partnership with Shwe Property.

This year’s highly awaited celebration of the Myanmar real estate industry saw 25 trophies presented to 12 of the country’s outstanding development companies. Capital Development Ltd. won three of seven Developer awards presented at the ceremony, namely Best Developer, Best Commercial Developer, and Best Mixed Use Developer. The company also won Best Office Development for Mandalay Financial Center, the first grade A commercial tower in Mandalay.

Development Group Ltd was named Best Breakthrough Developer. The company gained two of the night’s highest accolades for projects: Best Condo Development (Myanmar) and Best Luxury Condo Development, both for its Skysuites project.

International Limited also won multiple Developer awards: Best Sustainable Developer and Best Industrial Developer. Elite World Trading Co., Ltd meanwhile clinched the title of Best Lifestyle Developer, boosted by a win of Best Wellness Development   for its Imperial Clinic project.

Capital Development Ltd. and Dagon International Limited, along with Ayeyarwaddy Development Public Co., Ltd. and Sun Myat Tun Construction Co., Ltd., also received special honours, including the Special Recognition for Building Communities, Special Recognition for CSR, Special Recognition for ESG, and Special Recognition for Sustainable Construction.

In addition to celebrating the country’s newly launched projects, the PropertyGuru Myanmar Property Awards in partnership with Shwe Property also served as an occasion to commemorate one of the nation’s most important landmarks. Anawmar Art Group won the new award of Best Heritage Renovated Property for its masterful redevelopment and restoration of the Secretariat Yangon, the former headquarters of the British colonial government in Myanmar.

The PropertyGuru Myanmar Property Awards in partnership with Shwe Property was also an opportunity to honour some of the country’s most progressive industrial projects. Pathein Industrial City by Ayeyarwaddy Development Public Co., Ltd. won Best Township Development while New East Dagon Industrial Estate by Dagon International Limited won Best Industrial Development. Myanmar Thilawa SEZ Holdings Public Company Limited won Best Housing Development (Myanmar) and Best Housing Development, both for the Gyogone Housing Redevelopment.

Yoma Central by Meeyahta Development Limited scored two coveted Development titles: Best Mixed Use Development and Best Retail Development. A clear winner in the Design category, Woodland X Bar by Factory to Home Company won Best Entertainment Interior Design, in addition to its win for Best Entertainment Development.

The PropertyGuru Myanmar Property Awards in partnership with Shwe Property marked a milestone this year. Win Win Tint, Group CEO of City Holdings Limited, received this year’s award for Myanmar Real Estate Personality of the Year – making her the first female recipient of this honour. The award-winning businesswoman grew City Holdings Limited from a family enterprise with a single supermarket in Yangon into the leading retail company in Myanmar.

The Real Estate Personality of the Year award is chosen every year by the editors of PropertyGuru Property Report Magazine. It is the only award not decided by the independent judging panel.

The PropertyGuru Myanmar Property Awards in partnership with Shwe Property abided by health protocols and adopted a virtual format for its gala event and awards presentation. Leveraging the extensive platforms of PropertyGuru, Southeast Asia’s leading property technology company, and Shwe Property, the number one real estate portal in Myanmar, the historic virtual celebrations were broadcast on AsiaPropertyAwards.com and partner channels, extending the market reach of shortlisted companies and developments.

Hari V. Krishnan, CEO of PropertyGuru Group, said: “Congratulations to all our Myanmar winners and awardees this year – all of you symbolise the nation’s willingness and ability to triumph over adversity. We are especially pleased that this year’s awards juxtapose the nation’s most modern developments with heritage properties. By giving these winning projects a virtual platform on which they can spread their marketing messages, our awards truly elevate Myanmar’s best to the world stage.”
